Kol Nidre

Kol Nidre occurs the evening before Yom Kippur.  This year it falls on Wednesday October 1st.  Service will begin at 6:30 pm.  Men will wear tallit this night.

Kol Nidre is a deeply moving service in which the chazzan will lead us in the prayers which will usher in Yom Kippur.

Yom Kippur

Yom Kippur is the Day of Atonement and is known as the holiest day of the year.

"For on this day He will forgive you, to purify you, that you be cleansed from all your sins before G-d"

Leviticus 16:30

This year Yom Kippur will be celebrated on Thursday October 2.  Service will begin at 10:30 am.  The synagogue will remain open for those who would like to stay and pray.

This is a fast day where we refrain from eating and drinking so there will be no oneg after service.  (Young children, pregnant or nursing mothers, and those with medical reasons are exempt from fasting).

We will end the fast with the Closing of the Gates at 7:00pm.  Please bring dairy / parve dishes and beverages for yourself and your family to end the fast.
